CLASS DESCRIPTION:Learn about ancient art by making it yourself! Projects may include: a mosaic, a fresco, pottery with ancient design and painting techniques, wax tablets, and molded figurines. All materials are included in the class fee.


BIOGRAPHY: Megan Wilson is a Ph.D. student at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) studying Classics and Classical Art & Archaeology. Her work is interdisciplinary, focusing on the connections between art, theater, and politics in the ancient Greek world. She has interned in the Study Collection at the American Academy in Rome, participated in the ceramics team for excavations at Olynthos, Greece, and conducted research in Turkey on the material culture of ancient theater. She will spend next year as a Fellow of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens.
