CLASS DESCRIPTION - DESIGN THINKING (morning class): Students will engage in “Design Thinking” strategies at the OSU Museum of Art by learning innovative ways to view and discuss art, brainstorm, collaborate, and problem solve through a variety of activities.  On Wednesday July 12, students in both classes will take a day trip to the Kravis Design Center in Tulsa (transportation provided), leaving the OSU Museum of Art at 9 and returning to Stillwater at 430.  At the Design Center, students will have the opportunity to tour the collection, which includes fine art and industrial design, and participate in a design workshop.


CLASS DESCRIPTION - DESIGN MAKING (afternoon class): Students will engage in hands-on art and computer-based design projects.  On Wednesday July 12, students in both classes will take a day trip to the Kravis Design Center in Tulsa (transportation provided), leaving the OSU Museum of Art at 9 and returning to Stillwater at 430.  At the Design Center, students will have the opportunity to tour the collection, which includes fine art and industrial design, and participate in a design workshop.


STUDENTS ATTENDING BOTH DESIGN THINKING AND DESIGN MAKING will take a bus to the art department following a lunch break on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.  (Wednesday is a field trip day).


BIOGRAPHY: Professor Pouya Jahanshahi is a Graphic Designer, Film-maker and Educator, currently member of the Graphic Design faculty at Oklahoma State University. Mr. Jahanshahi received his MFA in Graphic Design and Integrated Media from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where his research focus was on the global development of what he terms “Hybrid Visual Cultures," visible in his exhibited works across various media. He has lectured taught in universities and workshops internationally, as well exhibiting in juried and invitational exhibitions.

BIOGRAPHY: Carrie Kim is the Curator of Education at the OSU Museum of Art and an Art and Design Educator.
